setting up services on a Linux PC

Linux® service mechanisms help to handle services (running in the background) during boot, shutdown or user requests. The advantages are as follows:

• Provides an easy way to start and stop services

• Automatic start of the STDSIMManager at system boot

We provide installation scripts for RED HAT RED HAT and UBUNTU UBUNTU distributions. Note that you must have root privileges to be able to install services. This is not required for simple service usage (Start/Stop).

Locate the template related to your Linux distribution, which can be found in the $AME/misc/remote_setup/lnx_x64 directory.
