The MY APPS category is a dedicated placeholder to arrange all your custom apps. When using a new release of Simcenter Amesim, all the apps from this category are automatically listed in the App space of the new release from the list of the previous release.

If you are still using older Simcenter Amesim releases, it is a good idea to create a copy of the app file for each release. This operation ensures that the apps work with any Simcenter Amesim release that is used. A Notice window is displayed to help you do this. This window is displayed whenever you make a change to an app (description, name, code...). It enables you to make a copy.

If you select Older Amesim installs will not be used, the copy is not made and all Simcenter Amesim releases use the app file. This means the app will not be compatible with older releases.

If you select Older Amesim installs are used in parallel to this Amesim installation, the copy is made and an app file exists for each Simcenter Amesim release. It is then possible to select how the copy is saved:

• In the same folder as the current folder. The number of the release is added to the name of the app file.

• In a dedicated folder. The location is defined using an explorer.

• By replacing it with an existing one. A browser allows you to select the app file.

All actions can be applied in a single action for all the apps in the MY APPS category by checking the option Apply this choice to all apps added to MY APPS in previous Amesim versions.
