Setting the working area

Procedure

1. Make sure you are in the directory where your Simcenter Amesim models are stored.

2. If you have closed Simcenter Amesim, it is necessary to run the AMELoad AMEload utility utility:

from a terminal window if you are using Unix , or

from a DOS window if you are using Windows.

This utility unpacks the Simcenter Amesim .ame file it receives in the argument provided it is called from the directory where this file is stored. For using any command mentioned in this chapter, it is necessary that a Simcenter Amesim model, for which a simulation has been run, is available and unpacked.

3. If you want to save the changes you have made with scripts you can use the AMESave AMESave and AMEClean AMEClean utilities. As with AMELoad , these utilities must be called from:

a terminal window if you are using Unix, or

a DOS window if you are using Windows.

AMESave saves the Simcenter Amesim files of the model (whose name is given in the argument) to its .ame file. Although the .ame file is updated, its constituent files are not deleted. Use the AMEClean facility in order to delete these files. AMEClean deletes the constituent files of the model whose name is given in the argument. The.ame file is not deleted, it is the only remaining file associated with the model. AMEPurge deletes by default only the result files of the model whose name is given in the argument. The executable file is not deleted. Note These utilities must be applied to a model that is unpacked and they must be called from the directory where the model is stored.
