Using Model Comparison from within Simcenter Client for Git

Model Comparison is integrated into Simcenter System Simulation Client for Git. Whereas Simcenter System Simulation Client for Git allows you to specify an external executable for use in comparing specific types of files, this is not necessary when using Simcenter System Simulation Client for Git directly within Simcenter Amesim.

You can launch a comparison directly from Model Collection Editor in Simcenter Amesim.

1. Navigate to the server history of a collection:

2. Ctrl+Click on any two versions in the Graphical Version History view, and choose Select 2 versions to compare from the contextual menu:

3. Click Compare Files in the action column for the .ame files in the collection:

When you launch Model Comparison from Simcenter System Simulation Client for Git, the tool works exactly the same way as when launched from Simcenter Amesim.

However, in addition, the headers of the comparison tree are now enriched with specific versioning and branch name information directly from Simcenter System Simulation Client for Git:
