For a given system there are two possible types of results files created by Simcenter Amesim:

• .results created by a standard run,

• .results.1,.results.2,... created by a batch run.

When you create a Variable list dialog box, the default result file is normally the file named .results. However, you can change this default by selecting from a menu in the Variable list dialog box. Whatever file you select, this becomes the default file until a new file is selected. This also applies to the Contextual variables tab.

There are two ways of creating a plot of results from all or only some of the batch runs.

• Do it manually by changing the results file. This is fine if you want the result for a single batch run.

• Specify what you want in a standard plot and convert it to a batch plot as follows:

Step 1: Create a plot

Create a normal plot from a single run using whatever facilities you want (X-Y plot, Plot manager etc.).

Step 2: Convert the standard plot to a batch plot

Procedure

1. Use Tools > Result sets in the Plot menu bar, or click the Result sets button .

2. Double-click on the plot area.

The Result Set Selection dialog box appears.

3. Make any adjustments you want and click on OK.

Results

Whichever method you choose, your normal plot is now converted to a batch plot.
