Statechart semantics
Semantics describe the execution behavior of a statechart. Factors that affect execution:
- Explicit or implicit ordering of states.
- Transition ordering between states.
- Events sent by parallel states or superstates.
Understanding these factors lets you build a chart with intentional interaction between its graphical and non-graphical building blocks.
Submodels derived automatically from statechart specifications provide a flexible, convenient way to control continuous models in Simcenter Amesim. When a model consists of a plant part and a control part, the entire control part — plus the interface between continuous and discrete behavior — can be specified using the statechart utility. Simcenter Amesim generates the corresponding submodel directly from the statechart specification.
