Getting started with Simcenter Amesim design exploration features

This manual introduces the Simcenter Amesim design exploration features through tutorial examples.

Design exploration provides a set of techniques for exploring a design space, assuming a mature model is already in hand but its parameters are still open to experimentation:

• Determine which parameters influence certain performance criteria.
• Experiment with a collection of parameters in order to optimize certain criteria.
• Find out how performance is affected by variation on a parameter due to production tolerances, different operating conditions, or wear.

The design exploration facility, through the use of the Study Manager, supports all of these activities, organized under:

• Design Of Experiments (DOE)
• Optimization
• Robustness analysis using Monte Carlo runs
