Benefits of using Linear Analysis

Linear analysis makes it possible to extract the significant parameters of the system (parameters with influence).

Moreover, if the model correlates in frequencies when you analyze it in the frequency-domain, it correlates also in the time-domain. Indeed, performing a FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) on an oscillation in the time-domain always matches the resonance frequency identified with an Eigenvalues analysis or with a Bode Plot analysis in the frequency-domain.

Finally, frequency-domain analysis is faster than a time-domain approach since it does not imply time-domain excitations with long CPU-times. Dynamic properties of the system can be found almost instantaneously.
