Setting the print interval
As seen previously, the print interval can strongly influence the power spectrum of a function. The FFT computed by Simcenter Amesim lies in a range (0, fc). As fc depends on the inverse of delta, reducing the print interval will not improve the precision of the FFT, but increase the frequency range if the FFT. The frequency resolution f is f= 1/N.T, with N the number of points and T the print interval. Improving the resolution of the FFT with the same print interval (T) requires a longer run.
Observing a phenomenon which has a frequency f=1/T requires a print interval set with a value corresponding at most to T/4. This means that at least 4 points are recorded for one period of the signal.
