master and slave system concept

For Discrete Partitioning, two categories are provided:

1. Slave blocks for master systems: this category contains the slave blocks that you will use to insert slave circuits into your master system. A master system must contain one or more slaves. Figure 3: Slave blocks

2. Master blocks for slave systems: this category contains the master blocks that you will place in your slave systems. This represents the master system that controls the slave concerned. A slave system must contain precisely one master. Figure 4: Master blocks

To illustrate the Discrete Partitioning process, we will start with perhaps the simplest possible example, and then present a more detailed example with a more complex circuit.
