Saturation pressure parameter Psat
Saturation pressure parameter This is the minimum pressure at which, in equilibrium, all air/gas is dissolved. Below this pressure and at the equilibrium some of the air/gas will be dissolved in liquid and some freed. We assume that PLvap < PHvap < Psat
It is known that “air/gas release” is a slower phenomenon than cavitation.
For relatively slow acting systems, we can set Psat to its true value (e.g. 0 [bar]).
For fast acting systems such as fuel injection or braking systems, the air/gas does not have enough time to dissolve when the pressure goes high. It these circumstances, we can set Psat to a higher value (e.g. 2500 [bar]). This ensures the existence of air/gas bubbles throughout the simulation. The amount of bubbles decreases when the pressure increases and reaches zero at Psat.
