Save as experiment

You can save a study (DOE, Optimization or Monte Carlo) as an embedded or a linked experiment from the Study Manager.

Creating an experiment

Procedure

1. Select the study you want to save as an experiment.

2. Click the arrow next to the Experiments button and select:

Save as embedded experiment to create an embedded experiment,

Save as linked experiment to create a linked experiment.

If you click the Experiments button, an embedded experiment is automatically created.

The Experiment view opens and an new experiment is created. You can see the type of study that was saved as an experiment in the corresponding column.

Applying experiments

Once you have created a set of experiments from your studies, you can apply the different parameters and results (if available) that they contain.

Right-click the experiment and select:

• Apply study experiment: the study settings, model parameters and results are applied,

• Apply study definition only: only the study settings are applied, or,

• Apply model data only: only the model parameters are applied.

Results

Depending on your selection, the experiment’s study settings, model parameters and results are applied to the system. A new study is also created in the Study Manager when you select Apply study experiment or Apply study definition only.
