Parameter study

The principle of Parameter study is described here.

The input list displayed for the parameter study technique is shown in the following figure.

Figure 80: List of inputs

The values defined in the Levels column will be used as levels for factors.

Procedure

  1. Enter the possible levels here, separated with a semi-colon ';'.

  2. To change this list, click twice on the corresponding cell and type in the new value(s). The list must consist of values compatible with the export parameter setting. For instance, numerical values only for real inputs, values from the possible value lists for discrete inputs, …

Results

An example of a design matrix corresponding to a unidirectional parameter study is shown below. This figure shows the two possible displays.

For the design matrix of a parameter study 0, 1, 2, 3, … stands for the levels numbered from the left to the right.

Copy data from Excel

You can copy Levels data from a .xls or .csv file and paste them to the Inputs/Controls tab, where values are in contiguous cells. To do so:

Procedure

  1. Select the parameters you want to use through their check boxes. If you choose not to use some of them, make sure to hide them using the Hide unused option.

  2. Select and copy the desired data from your .xls or .csv file. It can be one or several lines, depending on your number of parameters.

  3. Go back to the Study Manager, right-click the first level value field and select Paste.

Results

The Levels field is automatically populated with the data from Excel, and with the right conversion (a semi-colon is added between each value).

Note

Pay attention to where you place your cursor when pasting your data in the Study Manager. The data will be pasted from the cursor position.
