Encrypt a supercomponent or a submodel

To encrypt customized supercomponents or submodels in Component Customization:

Procedure

  1. Open the supercomponent or submodel you want to encrypt.

  2. Select File > Save or click on the Save button.

  1. In Submodel name, enter a name for your supercomponent or submodel.

  2. Select the Save encrypted check box.

The Enter and Confirm password fields become available, as well as the Table Key List button. Note For more information about the Table Key List feature, please refer to the Handling tables section ("Encrypt tables on disk") of the Supercomponent manual.

  1. Enter a password for your supercomponent or submodel, and confirm it.

  2. Click OK.

  3. Select a folder to store your supercomponent or submodel and click Select Folder.

Results

Note

Encrypting a customized submodel only affects the .spe file. Since the corresponding generic submodel (with an unencrypted .spe file) is necessary to use the customized submodel, you can use the encryption to hide some very sensitive parameter values.
