System saving
You can use the Save facility or Save as. If you try to Save a new (unnamed) system, Simcenter Amesim will divert the request to Save as.
Note
In this section we describe how to save files to your local system. You can also save files to the client for Git. See Simcenter System Simulation Client for Git for more information.
Save as is useful for saving the current system under a new name. It may be convenient to do Save before doing the Save as so that you have a copy of the original system with its original name in its latest form.
There are three ways to initiate Save:
Use File > Save in the menu bar.
Click on the Save button in the Global toolbar.
Use Crtl+S.
There is only one way to initiate Save as: use File > Save as.
Save as produces a file browser in which you can change directory:

Here, you can use the Files of type drop-down list to choose between saving your system as a standard Simcenter Amesim model file (.ame) or as a starter (.amt).
You can also create a new folder or directory through this file browser: .
Finally you must enter a file name. You should enter a name with no spaces. You can enter the full name including the .ame extension but, if you omit this, Simcenter Amesim will add the extension for you. If the name you enter is the same as an existing system in the same folder, a warning dialog box is produced.
