Preparing the circuit

First we must prepare the Simcenter Amesim circuit to which we will attach the Dashboard.

Procedure

1. Load the BouncingBall.ame demo from the Help > Get demo menu.

2. Switch to Simulation mode and, leaving all parameters at their default values, launch a simulation.

3. Plot the "Ball" mass displacement at port 1:

We can see the ball's trajectory as it bounces, but the movement is rather small and will not be very visible in the Dashboard. We will exaggerate the movement for the purposes of our demonstration.

4. Open the Post processing tab of the Watch view (use the menu View > Watch view to open it if it is not already present).

5. Select the mass and drag the displacement at port 1 variable into the Post-processing tab:

6. Edit the expression by adding *500 to it:

This will amplify the movement of the ball so it is more visible.

7. Run a new simulation and plot the post-processed variable:

Now the ball's trajectory is much more impressive.

8. Add a Dashboard to the system. click the New dashboard icon in the Analysis toolbar:
