Manipulating the Comparison tree

You can expand and collapse nodes in the Model Comparison tree view. This provides a more compact view, focused on the content of interest.

For easy readability, Model Comparison moves the difference highlight up one level whenever a node containing a difference is collapsed. This helps you quickly identify that despite the nodes underneath not being visible, you can be sure that a difference exists somewhere below.

As an example, look at the Components node in the screenshot below, and its first child element ae_GenericLoad_QS:

If you collapse the Parameters node, it is no longer displayed, but the blue highlight indicating there is a difference below is transferred to the parameters row:

In addition to this, you can use contextual menus for fine control over the level of detail shown:

  • Expand/collapse children: allows you to fully expand or collapse all the child nodes of the current node:

  • Expand differences: allows you to expand all the child nodes, but only those which are explicitly differences.
