Creating an XY plot

XY plot

Simcenter Amesim Run provides two ways of doing this. The first way is very specific and the second very general. With the plot shown in the figure Figure 75 do the following:

Procedure

  1. Click on the XY curves button of the plot toolbar .

  2. The next stage is to click in the graph area you want changed to an X-Y plot. In this case there is only one graph area in the plot so click on this. The following figure shows the new plot.

The problem here is that the angle is the vertical axis and we would prefer it to be the horizontal axis. This is easily remedied.

  1. Put your pointer in the graph area and select Interchange axes from the right-button menu.

We now have the plot we want. Figure 79: Axes have been switched

  1. Compare the figure above with the figure Figure 75.

Results

We can achieve the same result using a more powerful and flexible method. This requires use of the Plot manager.
