Encryption

Supercomponent encryption

The supercomponent encryption mechanism is more complex than the mechanism applied to submodels.

  • .spe and .sub files are encrypted.

  • C source files of constituent submodels are embedded and compiled into a single library.

  • C code of these submodels is partially obfuscated.

  • Tables used by the supercomponent are embedded in this compiled library and protected by private keys.

The encryption of the .spe and .sub files is similar to that applied to customized submodels. The files remain in ASCII (text) mode, but are not readable.

The compilation of constituent submodels and table embedding were introduced in Rev 11. Previous versions of Component Customization do not provide these features.
