Unit management

Simcenter Amesim Run allows you to modify the units of parameters or variables. In this way, you can display a pressure in psi instead of bar, or a mass in gr instead of kg. The Unit Management tool allows you to do this globally or for an individual system.

For example, if a unit of a component has been configured in Submodel Editor to display kg in gr, you might want to change the display back to kg.

You could either do this locally for the component (by clicking on gr in the Unit column and selecting kg), or you can use the Unit Management tool to do this automatically for all instances where kg is configured to display in gr. You can do this either for the currently-active system, or globally, for all systems opened in Simcenter Amesim Run.

The Unit Management tool allows you to select default or custom unit configurations, and create local unit customization for your version of Simcenter Amesim Run, or and individual system. In this way, you can have a global unit configuration for the Simcenter Amesim Run application, and also a specific unit configuration for individual systems.

The Unit Management tool contains either one or two tabs. If you open the tool with no system active, only the Default system tab is present. When a system is open, the Unit Management tool also contains the Active system tab. This tool is described in the following sections.
