The Connections sub window allows you to connect CAD Import primitives with each other.

Automatic connections

To ease the connection, an algorithm can be run to automatically connect primitives with the button.

For each created connection, the Start primitive and its connected port and the End primitive and its connected port are displayed in the Connections view. Connection information appears in the 3D scene when selecting it in the Connection view.

Manual connections

Connections can also be created manually with the button.

The Connection dialog allows you to select two primitives and their ports defining the connection.

Note

Only primitives with free port(s) and only unconnected ports can be selected.

Existing connections can be edited with the sign.

Connections removal

A created connection can be removed with the sign.

All created connections can be removed with the button.

Note

You can undo the connection creation, edition or deletion.

Connections check

A check of the unconnected ports can be done with the button. All unconnected ports and their primitive will be displayed in the 3D view.

Connections types

Dedicated connections are enhanced with additional properties. For those connections, it is possible to define the type and associated parameters. It is useful for 3D Mechanical in order to set the type of linkage between two bodies. The settings are done through the Connection dialog window.
