Adding a customized graphic primitive to a user toolbox

As well as creating user toolboxes containing your most commonly-used graphic primitives, you can customize a graphic primitive in the Scene, and then save it to a user toolbox with its properties configured as you require for future use.

For example, you might create a speed gauge, with the following properties:

• Property Label = Speed

• Property End = 200

To do this, place a graphic primitive in the Scene, modify its properties in the Object inspector, then right-click and select Save:

In the dialog box that opens, you can perform the following operations:

• Save to toolbox: Select a user toolbox in which to save your customized graphic primitive.

• Title: Enter a title for your customized graphic primitive.

• New toolbox: Create a new toolbox for your customized graphic primitive.

If you use the grouping function to group several graphic primitives together (see Grouping objects), you can then save this group to a user toolbox.

In the above screenshot we have three basic displays (a Round Gauge, a Button, and a Slider) grouped together in the Scene. When we save this group to a user toolbox, the icon for the graphic primitive group is automatically generated:

In this way, you can publish a graphic primitive for an entire flow chart, or a complete car Dashboard with steering wheel, speedometer, fuel gauge etc.
