Defining batch sets from multiple values

In this case the different configurations are defined in one Excel file as shown below.

We can set batch runs for both scalar and vector parameters. Here we will demonstrate an example of scalar parameters with the mass, and vector parameters with the spring stiffness.

Procedure

1. Select Multiple Values.

2. Select the parameters that are needed for the batch by moving them from the Available Keywords column to the Selected Keywords column.

Each time a parameter is moved to the Selected Keywords column you are asked to select the values in the Excel file that define the batch sets. Figure 40: Selected batch values

3. Select the parameters that are needed for the spring.

4. Select the data area.

Note You can make a multiple selection of values by pressing the Ctrl key:

5. Click OK to confirm. A window appears with a summary of the sets that are saved in the batch file.

Note If an unequal number of values is selected for different parameters, one or more values are automatically generated (of a value equal to the previous set) for the missing value(s). Such values are displayed in orange:

6. Choose one of the following options:

Click Replace Batch to replace any existing batch in the Study Manager.

Click New Batch to create a new .sad file that you can open in the Study Manager.

Note If you select multiple values, all values must have the same unit.
