Selecting objects

To select objects, you can use either:

• the Shift+Left-click method, or,

• the Rubber-banding method.

Shift+left-click method

This method of selection allows you to select several objects which are not in the same region of the sketch. To select two objects:

Procedure

1. Click on the first object.

2. Press the Shift key.

3. Still holding down the Shift key, click on the second object.

Results

Note

If you have selected several objects and want to deselect one of them, press the shift key and click on the object to deselect it.

Rubber-banding method

Rubber-banding is a quick way of selecting objects by dragging the cursor over the region you want to select:

Procedure

1. Click in the top left-hand corner of the region you want to select.

The cursor becomes a hand symbol.

2. Keep pressing the left button of the mouse and drag the cursor to the bottom right-hand corner of the region.

A rectangle indicates the region which is selected.

3. Release the left button of the mouse.

Results

The selected components are surrounded with dotted rectangles with black squares in the corners.

Note

If an object is not totally covered by the selection rectangle, it is not selected.

Ctrl+A

You can select all objects in a sketch by pressing Ctrl+A.
