Getting started with Simcenter Amesim Real-Time Simulation > Changing parameters or tables in the Simcenter Amesim model on the real-time target
OPAL-RT TECHNOLOGIES RT-LAB
RT-LAB uses a target that normally has a hard drive installed. This means that we can keep things very simple. We do not need to set global parameters or watch variables. We can simply transfer the data files normally used by the Simcenter Amesim model. The parameters that are set in the Simcenter Amesim model when the Generate files for Real-time is still coded into the executable code so that the data files are not necessary. If the data files are present, they will be used. The data files concerned are:
amemodel_.data: this is the main data file with all parameters for submodels.
amemodel_.amegp: for rev14 and newer systems this file replaces the two gp files (gp and gp2).
For the quarter-car Simcenter Amesim system, there is no customized supercomponent, so the GP2 file is not necessary to transfer to the target. In this case, the files shown in the figure below will be sufficient. It is now possible to use the Simcenter Amesim GUI (or the Simcenter Amesim - MATLAB scripts) to change parameters and then load the model to the target. The new parameters will thus only be taken into account if one reloads the model on the target computer.
