compiler

Simcenter Amesim uses a C compiler to compile models before running an analysis.

Under Windows, Simcenter Amesim supports both the MinGW compiler (referred to as GNU GCC in the Preferences) and the Microsoft Visual C++ Compiler. Simcenter Amesim models that need to be coupled with Simcenter 3D Motion can be compiled with either of these two compilers, but in 64-bit mode only. MinGW is not supported by Simcenter 3D Motion, but coupling a Simcenter 3D Motion model with a Simcenter Amesim model compiled with MinGW is possible. Select either the GNU GCC (64-bit) or Microsoft Visual C++ (64-bit) compiler in Simcenter Amesim through the Tools > Preferences > Compilation tab.

Under Linux, the 64-bit GCC compiler used for compiling Simcenter Amesim models can be used when exporting Simcenter Amesim models to Simcenter 3D Motion.
