Variable groups
A submodel can be configured so that its parameters and variables are grouped together. In this case, they are displayed as follows:

Note
Parameter and variable groups as shown here are only present if they have been configured in Submodel Editor.
You can change your parameter settings and plot curves as usual.
Editing parameter groups
If a parameter group is configured to be editable, the configured editor is listed next to the parameter group title:

Click the editor name to launch the editor.
Double-click the configuration button to do one of the following:
Click the button to open the Configure Parameter or Variable Group dialog box where you can configure a different editor.
Click the Launch button to launch the configured editor.

Procedure
- Double-click the configuration button and then click Launch to open the Configure Parameter or Variable Group dialog box:

- Click to browse to locate the editor of your choice.
Note You can also put additional command line arguments in this field which will be used when calling the editor. For example, to start a Python script with additional arguments arg1 and arg2, you would use: AMEPython path/to/script.py arg1 arg2
- Editor type. Select from:
executable: Select this option if your editor is an executable. Parameter passing mode is automatically set to file.
dynamic library: If you use a dynamic library, you have two options for Parameter passing mode (see below).
- Parameter passing mode. Here you have two options:
file: parameters are passed to the editor in a file, as they are for an executable editor type.
Function call: If you select this option, you must enter the Editor start function(the name of the function contained in the dynamic library that recuperates the data to use in the editor) and Editor close function(the name of the function contained in the dynamic library that provides the modified data from the editor).

Launching the editor
Click the Launch button to open the selected group in the configured editor:
