When you move your mouse cursor over an object that can be manipulated in the design space, the cursor symbol changes to a hand symbol, indicating that you can select that object to move or modify it.

When the hand symbol appears, you can click to select the object over which it is hovering:

You can select multiple objects (with Shift + Click or the rubber-banding method), and move and manipulate them together.
