Concluding remarks and FAQs

This manual has presented a simple example to introduce the use of the Simulink interface. Before you start developing your own models, we now summarize the most important points.

  • The input of the interface block in Simcenter Amesim has its ports in reverse order compared with Simulink.

  • Remember to change from Parameter to Simulation mode in Simcenter Amesim before running the simulation in Simulink or to use File > Write aux. files.

  • For systems using the AME2SLCosim (Co-Simulation) interface, it is important to remember the following:

    The Simcenter Amesim block is seen as a discrete block from Simulink.

    The parameters to the S-Functions are as shown in the table in Usage of the co-simulation interface, and they are not the same as the parameters for the standard interface.

  • For systems using the AME2SL (Model Exchange) interface the following points are important:

    The Simcenter Amesim model must be explicit i.e. there cannot be any implicit variables. The reason for this is that the Simulink integrators can handle only ordinary differential equations.

    Users of previous versions of the Simcenter Amesim-Simulink interface should notice that the output dealing with discontinuities (Hit Crossing) has been removed.
