Running a simulation

This section describes the simulation run dialog box, methods for trouble-shooting and speeding up simulations.

To run a simulation:

Procedure

  1. If necessary, change the Save status and Locked status of variables (see Lock states).

  2. If necessary, change the linear analysis status of variables (see Linear analysis status).

  3. Set the run parameters to define the characteristics of the run. There are three ways to do this:

Use Simulate > Run > Run parameters.

Use Ctrl+U.

Click on the Run parameters button from the Simulation contextual toolbar. Figure 272: Run parameters dialog box

  1. Initiate the run by doing one of the following:

Use Simulate > Run > Run simulation.

Press F7.

Click on the Run simulation button from the Simulation contextual toolbar.

Warning Do not rename your simulation result files during or after a simulation. You will no longer have access to simulation results.
