Manage CAE 1D Analysis revision for Simcenter Amesim

The following steps provide you with an outline for managing simulations from a Simcenter Amesim model in the context of a CAE 1D Analysis revision on Active Workspace.

A CAE 1D Analysis revision must always be created in the context of a CAE 1D Model revision. When you create a CAE 1D Analysis in context, the system links the CAE 1D Analysis revision to the CAE 1D Model revision and creates the CAE Defining relationship. It also copies the Input Parameters and the Output Parameters from the CAE 1D Model revision to the CAE 1D Analysis revision, and they are available in the Study tab.

Note

If the Input Parameters and the Output Parameters are missing in the Study tab, you can add them by copying them from the Study tab of the CAE 1D Model and using the Add > Palette option.

When you launch a simulation from Teamcenter to Simcenter Amesim, a seamless unit conversion mechanism is automatically engaged. This ensures that physics quantities defined in Teamcenter are accurately translated to the corresponding units specified within the Simcenter Amesim model, facilitating consistent and correct simulation results. It is important to note that if a unit is not explicitly defined in either Teamcenter, Simcenter Amesim, or both applications for a given physics quantity, the raw numerical value will be passed directly without any unit conversion. Therefore, users should ensure units are properly specified in both environments for automatic conversion to occur.

Procedure

  1. Click the Study tab to view the Input Parameters and the Output Parameters. The section displays the parameters that have been carried forward from the CAE 1D Model revision to the CAE 1D Analysis revision.

  2. Edit the Initial content to set the value of the Input Parameters. Only the Input Parameters with a Parameter ID are actually used by the Simcenter Amesim model to run the simulation.

  1. From the primary toolbar, click Open in Simulation Tool.

  2. Select Simcenter Amesim - Execute Analysis as the preconfigured simulation tool.

  3. Click Open and open the .tcsimxml file through Teamcenter Tool Launcher Client (TTLC).

The Teamcenter-Simcenter Amesim gateway for analysis appears. Figure 484: Gateway for monitoring simulation run

  1. From the gateway, the simulation is performed and all the steps are monitored.

  2. Once the simulation is finished, click the Upload button.

Results

The results are uploaded to Teamcenter and the values are set to the Measurement content of the Output Parameters.
