Using the External Variables facility

Procedure

1. Click on the External variables button from the Variable List dialog box.

The dialog box shown in the following figure appears. This component has 2 ports and is associated with a submodel named MECMAS21. The submodel MECMAS21 and other Simcenter Amesim Run submodels compute certain quantities, which Simcenter Amesim Run refers to as external variables external variables . In order to do this, MECMAS21 needs the values of other external variables, which will be computed by other submodels. The external variables computed by MECMAS21 are its output outputs. External variables that MECMAS21 requires from other submodels are its inputs input . Thus for the port 1, there are three outputs with units m, m/s and m/s/s and one input with unit N. 2. Use the Display variable titles and Display variable names checkboxes to display or hide the variables titles and names.

3. Close the External Variables dialog box.
