Batch Runs, Selection

You can compare sets of temporal data by selecting the IDs of the results which are available in your model. This feature can be applied on any types of graph.

We advise that you then create the appropriate graph using only one set (it can be the reference run or one of variants). Refer to the Types of graph view section to check the various graphs you can use to display data.

You access the result sets selection dialog window through the plot menubar Tools > Result sets... or the plot toolbar by clicking the result sets selection icon .

The Result Set Selection dialog window allows you to configure which result sets are displayed and to select the graph(s) the selection is applied to.

Result set mode options

You can choose a default configuration of the result set(s) that are displayed on your graph(s). This can be useful when you launch simulation once again to be sure that your plot behaves the same way.

• Reference set: use the results (if available) of the single run simulation options. If no single run has been performed, the plot is empty.

• Specific set(s): display the list of available result sets that you can add to the graph(s). Refer to the Specific set(s) selection section for additional information about the list.

• Last simulated set(s): with this option, the results of the run numbers from the last simulation options of the batch study are used. This is a dynamic mode: If a new simulation is performed with different run numbers, the plot is updated and the displayed result sets are changed.

Specific set(s) selection

When you select the Specific set(s) result set mode, a list of all available result sets is displayed. You can use the check boxes to select/unselect result sets from the list.

Note

You can make a multiple selection of result sets by clicking rows and then use the space bar to select/unselect the check boxes.

The Select / deselect all option spreads the selection to all result sets.

Some options allow you to identify the result sets or shorten the list:

• show all existing result sets

  Show all existing result sets: this check box allows you to list also the result sets from earlier design studies that are attached to the model. If any Experiments (exp_#) or Design of Experiment (doe_#) result sets are available, these are also listed. If unchecked the list shows only the result sets that the Last simulated set(s) result set mode created the display with.

• Show parameter values: this check box allows you to display the values of the batch study parameters for all result sets of the list. Figure 132: Show parameter values

"Apply to" options

You can use these radio buttons to specify whether the selection is applied to the graphs of the whole plot window, all the graphs of the current page, or one of the graph of the current page.

• Plot window: this option applies the selected result set(s) to all graphs in all pages of the plot window. Every new graph and page subsequently created in the plot window inherits the selection.

• Current page: this option applies the selected result set(s) to all graphs in the current page. Every new graph and page subsequently created in the plot window also inherits the selection.

• Graph: this option applies the selected result set(s) to a specific graph in the current plot page. When the option is selected, you can use the graph widget to choose to which graph in the current page you want to apply the result set(s). By default, the top left-hand graph is selected. Caution The graph widget is available even if either of the other two options is currently selected. Making a choice in the graph widget automatically switches the selection to Graph.

You can select the result sets for one graph using the contextual menu of the graph.

2. In the General tab, click the Result sets button to open the Result set selection window. Figure 135: Result set button

Note

You can customize how the curve titles of result sets are generated by adding information about the run ID and the batch parameters. Please refer to the post-processing preferences of Simcenter Amesim.
