Save and Save next status of variables

Save status

Save next status

Save next status applies in Temporal analysis mode only.

Double-click on a component in Simulation mode to open a Variable List dialog box:

Note the two columns:Save Next and Saved. If the Variables pane is enabled in the View menu, you have access to the same columns in the Variables pane when you select (single-click) a component:

If the Save next status of a variable is true (the checkbox is ticked), during the next run its value will be added to the .results file. The Save next status of variables does not in any way influence linear analysis results.

The Save next status of variables can be changed:

  • globally for the currently selected sub-system,

  • for all variables in a submodel,

  • for individual variables.

In the .results file a variable is saved or not according to its saved status when the run was initiated. This may be different from its current status.

If you want to change the status of a variable tick the corresponding box within the Save next column before the run. The saved variables are in the .results file and you can plot them.

The column Saved shows whether a variable has been saved or not and consequently if it is plottable.

Figure 146: Save next column is editable

In the above screenshot, the variable AS Body displacement was saved during the last run and it can be plotted, but it will not be saved during the next run.

Note

The Saved column is not editable. It is for information only.
