Manage CAE 1D Model revision with Simcenter Amesim

The following steps provide you with an outline for managing a Simcenter Amesim model that is attached to a CAE 1D Model revision on Active Workspace.

Uploading a Simcenter Amesim model the Teamcenter-Simcenter Amesim gateway

Procedure

  1. Select the CAE 1D Model revision and from the primary toolbar, click Open in Simulation Tool.

  2. Select Simcenter Amesim - Create or Modify Model as the preconfigured simulation tool.

  3. In the Launch Inputs, you must select the Launch without configured input checkbox since no Simcenter Amesim model is attached to your model revision.

  1. Open the .tcsimxml file through Teamcenter Tool Launcher Client (TTLC).

  1. From the gateway, you can:

browse to locate and select the Simcenter Amesim model you want to upload

give the name of the CAE Amesim item under your model appears (by default the same name as the .ame file is picked)

add additional files to upload (.csv, .png, .mp4, .html, .docx)

map Input Parameters of the CAE 1D Model revision study with Watch parameters of the Simcenter Amesim model. Select a watch parameter through the drop-down list.

map Output Parameters of the CAE 1D Model revision study with Watch variables of the Simcenter Amesim model. Select a watch variable through the drop-down list.

You can upload the model even if the mapping is not complete. Once the model is uploaded, you can downloaded locally and edit it, Editing an existing Simcenter Amesim model Click the Edit in Simcenter Amesim to change your model. Then Simcenter Amesim is launched, edit the model, save it and close Simcenter Amesim. The gateway is then updated.

  1. Click the Upload button.

Results

Your CAE Amesim item is uploaded to Teamcenter and attached to the CAE 1D Model revision item.

Uploading a Simcenter Amesim model from Simcenter System Simulation Client for Git

You can also work with models from Client for Git. In this case, the Share Link for Teamcenter button creates a CAE 1D object containing a model to share to Teamcenter.

You can consume this model in the same way as those attached to Teamcenter directly.

Editing an existing Simcenter Amesim model

Procedure

  1. Select the CAE 1D Model revision and from the primary toolbar, click Open in Simulation Tool.

  2. Select Simcenter Amesim - Create or Modify Model as the preconfigured simulation tool.

  3. In the Launch Inputs, you must not select the Launch without configured input checkbox since a Simcenter Amesim model is already attached to your model revision.

  1. Open the .tcsimxml file through Teamcenter Tool Launcher Client (TTLC).

  1. From the gateway, you can:

give the name of the CAE Amesim item under your model appears (by default the same name as the .ame file is picked)

add additional files to upload (.csv, .png, .mp4, .html, .docx)

map Input Parameters of the CAE 1D Model revision study with Watch parameters of the Simcenter Amesim model. Select a watch parameter through the drop-down list.

map Output Parameters of the CAE 1D Model revision study with Watch variables of the Simcenter Amesim model. Select a watch variable through the drop-down list.

Click the Edit in Simcenter Amesim to change your model. Then Simcenter Amesim is launched, edit the model, save it and close Simcenter Amesim. The gateway is then updated. It is useful to create watch parameters or watch variables if they are missing.

  1. Click the Upload button.

Results

Your CAE Amesim item is uploaded to Teamcenter and updated to the CAE 1D Model revision item.

The alias path of the Watch parameters and Watch variables are set as Parameter IDs of the Input Parameters and Output Parameters.
