• Help realize a good design, understand how the system works.

• Help realize a good analysis and understanding of the model.

• Speed up the simulation.

• Move towards Real-Time simulation application.

• Synthesize information for control laws.

Since modeling is so "use case-dependent", it is impossible to give a firm set of rules regarding model complexity. It is only possible to use dedicated tools such as the Activity Index to help the users in analyzing the behavior of their models.
