Getting started (FMU import)

The import workflow at a glance

Importing an FMU of any type is made simple with the FMU Import Assistant. Once imported, an FMU behaves as an ordinary Simcenter Amesim submodel:

  1. Use the FMU Import Assistant to select the FMU, create and compile an import submodel.
  2. Drop the import submodel on the sketch, connect it to other components.
  3. Change parameters if necessary (including the step size for co-simulation), run the simulation, and post-process the result variables.

Overview of the FMU Import Assistant

The FMU Import Assistant is started from the Interfaces > FMU import assistant menu.

The assistant first asks for an FMU and a directory to store the import submodel. It then asks for a C compiler. The Generate> button starts the import of the FMU.
