Discrete partitioning

Discrete variables can be used for submodels requiring piecewise constant variables. These have been widely used in hydraulic discrete partitioning submodels. Like state variables, discrete variables can only be reset when the discontinuity flag is equal to zero.

In Simcenter Amesim Simulation mode, with the Discontinuities printout turned on, a typical plot of a discrete variable is shown below:
