Plugins

The Plugins section lists dedicated tools that allow to automate CAD part processing for modeling purpose.

For more information on the plugins please refer to their respective documentation.

Cutting plane

Cutting plane allows you to add a cutting plane to the scene. Note that this is a contextual selection. If you want to cut a specific object, select it before activating this option.

Options

Options gives you access to the settings of the animation (Rendering, Undo/Redo)...

The CAD page allows you to adjust the faceting of the created and imported CAD parts. Reducing the faceting level will decrease the CAD Import memory footprint but will decrease the rendering quality.

Note

If the CAD Import project contains very detailed, or a high number of CAD parts, this option can be a long process.

Units

By selecting a pair of base quantities (length [L] and mass [M]), any units of measure is displayed in CAD Import according to the preference. That means position, distance, length, area, volume, mass, moment of inertia, and density have their values expressed in the chosen configuration.

Using the right configuration is convenient to the correct value depending on the working system of units and the components magnitude.

Note

The selection of preferred units are reflected in the Object inspector, the Measurements, and in the Primitive association window.
