Hybrid Co-simulation with the usercosim interface
Generalities
As explained in the Co-simulation or Hybrid Co-simulation? section, Hybrid Co-simulation implies both a master and one or many slaves. Slaves are piloted by the master. Typically, the master calls methods defined by the slave models. This way the master can set/retrieve values from a slave, or make it simulate until a given date, etc.
With the "usercosim" interface, a dynamic library can be generated from a Simcenter Amesim model. This dynamic library will represent the slave side of the Hybrid Co-simulation. A slave model build with "usercosim" interface includes the Simcenter Amesim variable step solver.
Note
On Linux and more generally on Unix systems, dynamic libraries are usually called shared libraries. Their extensions differ according to the platform. It is .so on Linux, and .dll on Microsoft platforms.
