Vapour

Single component physical properties: Vapour

The vapor (vaporized liquid) has a polytropic equation of state, and then for the vapor bulk modulus:

The hydraulic reference conditions for the vapor are taken at PvapH and 273 K.

The vapor is assumed to obey an ideal gas law of the form

Where:

  • n is the amount of the vapor in [moles]

  • Ru is the universal gas constant [J/mol/K]

  • m is the mass of vapor [kg]

  • M is the molecular mass of vapor [kg/mol]

We introduce the effective molecular mass of vapor emm in [g/mol]. This is a Simcenter Amesim parameter that the user has to define. We have:

Finally, the vapor density at PHvap and 273 K is:

Then the vapor density at P and T can be computed from the reference density:

Equation 9: Vapor density at P and T

Equation 9 is valid for all the types of fluid properties.
