To alias the masses:

Procedure

1. Select the mass at the top of the model.

2. Right-click on it.

3. Select the Alias submenu.

A dialog box as shown below appears.

4. Enter Body Mass in the input box of the dialog box.

5. Click on OK.

6. Alias the other mass as Wheel Mass.

7. Click on Alias list to get the list of the existing aliases.

Note You can also use the menu Modeling > Alias list.

To alias a parameter title:

Procedure

1. Select the mass at the top of the model to display its parameters.

2. Double-click on displacement port 1 and type body displacement.

3. Select the other mass.

4. Double-click on displacement port 1 and type wheel displacement.

To alias a variable title:

Procedure

1. Go to Simulation mode.

2. Select the mass at the top of the model to display its variables.

3. Double-click on velocity at port 1 and type body velocity.

4. Select the other mass.

5. Double-click on velocity at port 1 and type wheel velocity.

Before studying the External Variables facility, you must set parameters and run a simulation.
