Submodel alias list

Select this option to open the Alias List dialog box, which lists all the existing aliases. If necessary you can edit the Alias column to modify a submodel's alias.

If you click on a submodel in the Alias List, the alias label is displayed in the sketch:

The alias is retained even if you change the element’s submodel. Aliases only have to be unique at a given system level: you can give the same alias name to several components or lines if they belong to distinct supercomponents.

You cannot give the same alias to components or lines which are at the same level:

Creating a new alias

Alias dialog

Right-click on a component on the sketch and select Alias.

A dialog box as shown in the following figure appears. Here you can assign an alias to the selected component.

Press the Alias list button to open the Alias List dialog box.
