The Configure menu > Global parameters
Global parameter visibility
Visibility of parameters or variables is controlled by the Visibility field, which is set in Submodel Editor. Global parameters in a supercomponent can use a visibility expression in the Exposed parameters view to define whether they are displayed in the Simcenter Amesim contextual view.
Figure 187: Global parameter visibility field
The Visibility expression column is editable for local global parameters. All other component parameters’ visibility is set to True and cannot be modified.
Setting visibility expression
You can either type directly into the Visibility expression field, or open the Expression dialog, which lists the integer and real parameters exposed at the current level of the supercomponent.
Note
To set a visibility expression, you must use the exposed name of the parameter as displayed in the Exposed parameters view.

If the expression you enter cannot be evaluated, it is highlighted in red (both in the Expression dialog and in the Visibility expression field).

Additionally, if a local global parameter of a supercomponent that is used in a visibility expression (directly or indirectly) is renamed or deleted, any visibility expression referencing that local global parameter is highlighted in red as being invalid. The Visibility expression field is empty for component parameters, and a tooltip indicates that it is not editable.

Note
For local global parameters, the visibility is set to True by default.
Using visibility expressions
Exposed global parameters are displayed or hidden in the contextual views according to their visibility expressions. The contextual view is updated according to the evaluated value of the visibility expression. In the following example, we see a global parameter whose Visibility expression is changed so that it is no longer displayed in the contextual view.

When the Visibility expression is set to <10, the global parameter GP_11 is hidden.
