License-free and/or standalone FMU (option)

For even easier deployment of FMUs, you can select the option

FMU not requiring runtime licenses

during FMU export. This option requires a specific license (the

generation

license) on the machine that is exporting the FMU. With this option enabled, almost all

Simcenter Amesim

models can be exported as standalone FMUs

, with no external dependencies (typically installation or license) needed for their execution.

Note

This standalone export option is currently restricted to Model Exchange FMUs (no Simcenter Amesim is solver embedded) or Co-Simulation FMUs, as long as the model uses a fixed-step solver (the Simcenter Amesim fixed-step solver is embedded).

Note

This option is available only for native platforms and architectures (Windows or Linux 64-bit). It

cannot

be combined with:

• The “tool coupling scenario” option (this option creates a de facto dependency with Simcenter Amesim).

• The “FMU for real-time option” (such FMUs are already standalone to prevent issues such as overruns on real-time operating systems).

This scenario assumes that the

embed tables

option (active by default) is not disabled. Moreover, such an FMU might not be self-contained if it uses encrypted tables as parameters, if it contains user submodels requiring external files or resources that are not explicitly declared as parameters and/or that do not comply with

standard table formats (0D, 1D, 2D, XYs ...). In such cases, these external resources will not be automatically embedded and must be provided with the FMU or available on the machine that will run it.
