The System Compilation window

When you enter Simulation mode, Simcenter Amesim Run compiles the system. The compilation creates an executable file. This executable file makes the simulation possible. Normally, before you perform a simulation run, you adjust the parameters of the model.

When compilation occurs, the following dialog box appears:

This window provides the following information:

• The number of state variables in the model.

• The number of implicit variables declared or generated.

• The presence of algebraic loops.

• The Details tab, which shows compilation and link messages of the source code generated for the Simcenter Amesim Run model.

You can interrupt the compilation by clicking the Stop compilation button , or using Ctrl+F7.

Error messages

If compilation was successful, the Messages tab displays the message Completed. If compilation was not successful, the Details window displays the relevant error messages:

Algebraic loops

If your system contains algebraic loops, the System Compilation window enables you to locate them by clicking the arrows in the window to highlight them in the sketch:

You can navigate through all levels of a sketch that contains algebraic loops (including supercomponents) using the arrows, as the System Compilation window does not block access. Once you close the window, the highlights on algebraic loops disappear, but you can locate them again through the Performance Analyzer.
