Importing and Exporting apps

Apps can be exported from one component, and then imported into another component. To do so open the Manage window.

To export an app

Procedure

1. Select the app in the list and click Export.

An Export to file window opens.

2. Specify a name and a location for your exported app.

3. Click Save.

To import an app

Procedure

1. Click Import.

2. Browse and locate a previously-exported app.

3. Click Open.

4. The selected app is added to the list of apps in the Manage apps window.

Limitations

When exporting and importing an app into another document or component you must make sure that all broken links are corrected.

Naturally, exporting an app on Component X using Parameter X1 does not necessarily work correctly when it is imported to Component Y using Parameter Y1.

The mechanism that is used to link to parameters and variables is the data path.
