Identifying critical variables
identifying critical variables
The other objective of this part of the Performance Analyzer is that it records variables which have the greatest difficulty in satisfying the error test performed after each integration step.
Their cumulative and instantaneous contributions are computed.
Checking the cumulative contribution gives an overall idea of which variable is the most active over the whole simulation. The instantaneous contribution is also very useful in identifying sudden activity of specific variables.
In the following plot we show a typical case where variables are alternately active.
