Sorting Global Parameters

You can click on column headers in the Global Parameter Setup dialog box to sort your global parameters in ascending or descending order:

When you sort by clicking a column header, a black triangle is displayed on that column to indicate that it has been used for sorting:

Sorting columns

You can sort the following columns:

• Name (alphabetic order)

• Title (alphabetic order)

• Value (lexicographic order)

• Unit (alphabetic order)

• Minimum (lexicographic order)

• Default (lexicographic order)

• Maximum (lexicographic order)

• Type (alphabetic order)

If you click OK or Apply after sorting your global parameters, the sort order will be retained for the next time you open the dialog box. If you click Cancel, the sort order is discarded.

In the following example, global parameters are sorted by value:

If we click the Title column header, all global parameters are sorted in ascending order according to their titles:

Note

The global parameters in groups are also sorted in ascending order within those groups.

When we click again on the Title column header, the global parameters are sorted in descending order:

Modifying the sort order

You can drag and drop your global parameters to create an order that suits you. When you are satisfied with the final order, you can click OK or Apply to confirm your choice. If once you have reorganized your global parameters (for example through a drag and drop, or move up/move down from the contextual menu) you click a column header, all global parameters are sorted according the column selected and your personalized order is lost.

Sorting with groups

If your list of global parameters contains global parameter groups, these groups will also be included in the sort process, the global parameters they contain will be sorted (according to the column selected) within those groups.
