Statistical Quality and Monte-Carlo Analysis

Like the Random generator sampling method, the LH and OLH are used to generate samples with fewer runs. They are used to achieve more reliable results for Monte Carlo statistical analysis. If we want to study a function over its whole domain of definition, we must examine the function output corresponding to input values uniformly distributed in its domain. The quality of a Monte Carlo study depends only on the uniformity of its sampling. Without LH or OLH, when computing a Monte Carlo study, input values are randomly chosen.

LH and OLH provide more powerful methods for constructing uniform sampling. The distribution of the input values with OLH and LH provide more reliable results than with a Random generator. Moreover, results obtained with an OLH are better than those obtained with an LH since the samples obtained with the OLH are more uniform.
